SCOUTS BSA
The Scouts BSA program (formerly known as Boy Scouts) serves youth ages 11–17 and is one of America’s longest-standing and most respected youth leadership organizations. Scouts participate in a wide range of outdoor adventures and hands-on activities including camping, hiking, kayaking, mountain biking, service projects, and much more.
The program focuses on character development, leadership, citizenship, and physical and mental fitness. More information about the national program can be found at ScoutingAmerica.org.
One of the things that makes Scouts BSA unique is that it is fundamentally youth-led. While adult volunteers provide guidance, mentorship, and oversight, it is the scouts themselves who plan meetings, organize outings, lead activities, and help shape the direction of the troop.
New Canaan is home to three Scouts BSA troops. Their meeting information, contact details, and website links are provided below. Families are encouraged to reach out, learn more about the units, and explore the adventures and opportunities each troop offers prospective scouts.
